The leader of the Ennahda movement, Tunisian Parliament Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi, accused the Emirati media of being behind what happened in Tunisia and targeting the Ennahda movement.

In an interview with the Turkish channel TRT, Ghannouchi said that the military establishment separates the political and the military and has no interest in getting involved in political issues.

He added that President Kais Saied’s decisions do not serve democracy or partisan pluralism and reflect a thirst for control of state institutions.

He explained that the office of the Ennahda movement held a meeting and took a decision condemning the coup, and called on President Kais Saied to reverse these decisions.

The Tunisian president decided, yesterday evening, Sunday, to freeze the parliament’s work, lift the immunity of all its members, and dismiss Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashishi.
