The Executive Director of the Regions in the Greater Amman Municipality, Mutaib Al-Khawaldeh, said on Wednesday that there are 11 sites for sacrifices in all areas of the Greater Amman Municipality, including the slaughterhouse in Amman and Al-Madonah.
He said that the sacrificial sites are serviced in terms of health control, and veterinarians who supervise the sacrificial animals before and after slaughter.
He pointed out that each barn has an area of about 100 square meters, and there is a space between each barn and another as part of the health requirements in addition to spraying pesticides.
On the mechanism of dealing with sacrificial waste, he said that there is an environmental cadre from the Wadi Al-Seer area and the neighboring areas that follow up the transfer of waste to the Ghabawi landfill in an organized and continuous manner, and at the Ghabawi landfill there is another team that receives waste for treatment and transportation to benefit from the production of methane gas.
He indicated that the organic waste constitutes approximately 60%, and during the Eid al-Adha period, it may reach 70%.
