Director General of the Standards and Metrology Organization, Eng. Abeer Barakat Al-Zuhair, confirmed that the organization’s cadres organized several inspection tours to check the scales and graveyards designated for the sale of sacrifices and live meat, in the squares, barns and butcheries designated for their sale, with the approaching Eid al-Adha.

Al-Zuhair said that these tours are part of the institution’s inspection plans, which aim to protect the citizen, verify the accuracy of weights and scales, and prevent citizens from being unfair or cheating in their weight.

Al-Zuhair stressed that the inspection teams will continue their intensive tours of the sacrificial cemeteries during the days of the blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday, and will continue to receive complaints from citizens throughout the holidays via the unified complaint phone WhatsApp 065301243 or through the “Basedamkum” application or sending messages on the Foundation’s Facebook page @jsmo. gov.jo, or the Foundation’s website via the link: https://bit.ly/2O6n3Zq.

These tours come as a continuation of the continuous efforts made by the Foundation in verifying the accuracy of weights, scales, and scales throughout the year. Since the beginning of this year, the Foundation has verified (740) earthly scales and scales.
