Health Minister Firas Al-Hawari said on Monday that the Saudi authorities have approved the Sinopharma (Chinese) vaccine to enter it from Jordan, provided that another third dose of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine is taken.
And he added in a statement to “The Kingdom”: “Saudi Arabia informed us to allow Jordanians vaccinated with two doses of Sinopharm to enter its territory, provided that they take a third dose of the approved vaccines, which are AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson.”
The Ministry of Health announced earlier that there were talks between Jordan and Saudi Arabia regarding the adoption of the Chinese anti-Corona vaccine “Sinopharma”.
In July, the ministry announced the launch of a special platform to register citizens with special circumstances to receive a specific vaccine against the Corona virus for the purposes of travel and work in countries that do not recognize certain vaccinations.
The European Union allows entry to travelers who have received a vaccine from among the 4 approved by the European Medicines Agency, which are Pfizer / Piontech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, but excluded the Chinese vaccine Sinopharma.
The ministry indicated at the time that the platform will be concerned with citizens who have special circumstances, whether work or travel-related conditions in the countries of Europe, America, Canada and neighboring countries that require specific vaccinations.
