On Monday afternoon, firefighting teams in the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate dealt with a fire that broke out inside a house in the New Zarqa area.

A security source told the online newspaper, Jordan News, that the fire resulted in the death of a five-year-old girl and the injury of three others asphyxiation, while ambulance teams worked to evacuate the death and injuries to Zarqa Governmental Hospital.

The source indicated that preliminary investigations indicated that there was an electrical short-circuit that set the house on fire, and the security services opened an investigation into the incident.
