The results of a Chinese medical study showed that antibodies to the emerging corona virus can remain in more than 70% of those recovering from the virus for a period of 12 months – at least -.

The study showed that the reaction of antibodies to the virus in the early stages of infection was stronger in males than in females, but the difference diminished over time and almost disappeared within 12 months.

The study showed that as soon as the immune system reacts to the Corona virus, it produces antibodies, which can remain for a long time.

The researchers behind the study indicated that they collected 1,782 samples of plasma from 869 people who had recovered from the virus in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, within 12 months of their cases being diagnosed. They also conducted tests on these samples and showed the strength of their immunity against the virus.

They explained that the results of examining these samples showed that antibody levels decreased during 9 months to 64.3 percent of the initial levels when those people were infected with the virus, and then stabilized during the 12th month.
