Men who are losing hair quickly need to consult a therapist to help them deal with trauma, according to health experts.
If a man loses his hair, he is in too severe psychological trauma to talk to a therapist.
Experts analyzed 41 international studies involving 7,995 men who all experienced the most common form of hair loss, androgenetic alopecia.
53% of men between the ages of 40 and 49 and up to 90% experience severe baldness throughout their lives.
People with baldness tend to report lower life satisfaction and feelings of shame, anxiety and frustration. This happens more often than those who have a thick head of hair.
However, the analysis of studies published in JAMA Dermatology found no association between androgenetic alopecia and depression.
In general, the authors of the analyzes tend to link the deteriorating mental health of baldness to the stigma that exists in society regarding baldness. That is why these men, if they cannot stop this process due to limited means to combat baldness, should not hesitate and seek psychological support and psychotherapy.
