The Pharaonic civilization never ceases to inspire us with its treasures and creations, and fashion houses are still inspired by the designs of accessories such as rings, necklaces and clothes, so the students of the fourth year, at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Damietta University, were inspired by their graduation project from Pharaonic designs with the addition of modern touches to suit the modern era.

Dr. Naglaa Tuaima, Professor of Design and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, at the College of Applied Arts, told Al-Youm Al-Sabeeh: “The idea of the graduation project combines the nobility of the past and the development of the present, hence the idea of the “Pharaohs are Coming” project.”
The project was divided into two parts, which are smart clothes for furniture city workers, as well as some pharaonic symbols, and help workers save time and effort and give them comfort, and the second part, dresses inspired by the Pharaonic civilization, as it mixed between the Pharaonic civilization and the current era, where the use of modern technology.

She continued: “The project was not only limited to designing costumes that mimic the Pharaonic era, but also designed some Pharaonic accessories rich in details and inscriptions.”
Student-designed dress
Students of Applied Arts at Damietta University were keen to design pharaonic dresses with modern touches, that could be worn by modern women, and this was indicated by Naglaa Taima, the founder of the project and the founder of the idea, along with Dr. Tarek Zagloul, assistant professor in the department of ready-made clothes, who said: “There is a graduation project Some interactive clothes that keep pace with the modern era, designed with luminous dyes and also hidden lights, and more than one technique was used in the implementation, whether in terms of raw materials or in terms of embroidery, and the design was used in more than one way to support the idea of sustainability.”

Many students participated in the implementation of the project, as it took a week to design the dresses for the project, and it was implemented within a month, and the dresses were designed from velor curtains.
