Jordan Trade: Jordanian companies have great capabilities to support digital transformation

The representative of the communications and information technology sector in the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Haitham Al-Rajbeh, confirmed the ability of the sector companies to support official transformations regarding access to e-government and digital transformation, and to accelerate their achievement in record time.
He said in a press statement today, Saturday, that the sector companies have large and wide capabilities and expertise in the field of programming that can be benefited from regarding the services that the government wants to provide to citizens in the service sector and to complete their transactions as soon as possible.
He stressed that Jordan has a qualified infrastructure to help complete the e-government file, and high capabilities and great expertise, which many countries in the region have benefited from in this regard, praising the official efforts currently being made to accelerate access to digital transformation, in line with the royal directives.
He pointed out that Jordanian companies operating in the telecommunications and information technology sector have gone a long way in development and growth and have become supportive of many countries in the region by providing solutions to their various economic and service sectors.
He explained that Jordanian companies today export many of their services in the field of software to many Arab and foreign countries, in addition to specialized competencies and expertise.
Al-Rawajba stated that the sector, which is an essential part and pillar of the Kingdom’s national security, in addition to its importance as an important and supportive tributary of the national economy, has proven high capabilities during the Corona pandemic, whether in terms of supporting the fight against the epidemic or facilitating the work of economic sectors and the lives of citizens.
He noted the role played by communications and information technology companies in the matter of education, remote work, the delivery of food and basic foodstuffs to citizens, and the establishment of electronic platforms for work permits, electronic payment and government transactions.
Among the efforts made by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, which is the first umbrella for the sector, to help the sector’s companies grow, overcome difficulties and open new horizons of work for them locally and abroad.
He pointed out that the number of companies operating in the information technology sector throughout the Kingdom is more than 1,000 companies, with approximately 45,000 workers.
Eng. Al-Rajbeh also welcomed the Cabinet’s decision to approve the national strategy for digital transformation and the executive plan for the years (2021-2025), which were prepared in line with national policies and strategies and global trends in the field of digital transformation.
