A Turkish court has refused to add the US intelligence report on the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi to the case file.
Khashoggi’s fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, tweeted: “I hope and pray that justice will be served, latest updates from Istanbul: the hearing has ended, and the judge refused to add information from the US intelligence report again.”
The court refused to add the US intelligence report, claiming that it would not enrich the case file.
Meanwhile, Khadija Cengiz says that the report, which has been declassified, from the US intelligence puts the responsibility directly on the Saudi crown prince.
The Istanbul Public Prosecution Office had prepared a 117-page indictment against the defendants, who were issued an arrest warrant in the context of Khashoggi’s murder.
The hearings of the case are being held in the 11th strict penal court in the Justice Palace in the “Caglian” district of Istanbul.
The Saudi officials involved in the Khashoggi assassination are being tried in the case, in absentia.
