Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif considered that Washington was “defeated” in Afghanistan, and its presence there led to the destruction of the country.

Zarif added, “The Islamic Republic is ready to provide assistance in the process of dialogue to resolve conflicts between Afghan factions.”

Earlier, Afghanistan had agreed in principle to hold a tripartite meeting with Iran and Pakistan on regional support for the Afghan peace process, at a time when peace negotiations between the government and the Taliban are faltering and hostilities between the two sides are escalating.
It is also mentioned that at the end of February last year, at a ceremony in Qatar, the United States and the Taliban signed the first peace agreement in more than 18 years of war, which provides for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan within 14 months, and the start of a dialogue Among the Afghans after a prisoner exchange deal.

The violence and bloody confrontations between government forces and the hardline Afghan Taliban movement escalated, in light of the stalled negotiations between them to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement and discuss the country’s political future.

Before that, the US administration had announced that it would start withdrawing its forces from Afghanistan on May 1, and by September 11 it will complete the withdrawal in coordination with the allies.

And the United States has already ended the exit of more than 90% of its forces in Afghanistan, according to the latest data from the US Central Command.
