The Spanish club Barcelona announced, today, Monday, the success of the surgery underwent by its French player, Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele was injured during the France-Hungary match in the European Nations Cup, after which he left the national team camp, and it was found that he needed urgent surgery.

Barcelona issued a statement on its official website, saying: “Osman Dembele underwent a successful surgery in Turku (Finland), by Dr. Las Lembainen, under the supervision of the club’s medical services, on the biceps femoris tendon in his right knee.”

The statement added: “Osman Dembele’s absence from the stadiums is up to 4 months.”

Dembele had participated in the first two matches of France in the European Nations Cup as a substitute, before he was injured in the second match against Hungary.

It is noteworthy that Dembele’s contract, 24, expires with Barcelona at the end of next season, and no agreement has been reached on signing a new contract yet.
