Today, Monday, the Judicial Authority specialized in corruption cases in the Penal Magistrate’s Court of Amman began to consider a corruption case that was complained of by one of the general secretaries of one of the independent bodies.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with the accusation of abuse of power, forging a false certificate and using it for a number of employees, and the transfer of the case to the court by the Public Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Several sessions were held for corruption cases before the judiciary, including the case of forgery of medical licenses in which a teacher in the Ministry of Education was accused, and the case reached its final stages before the verdict was pronounced.

The court recovered an amount of three thousand and 610 dinars from one of the contractors in favor of the Ministry of Education and placed the amount in the court’s safe deposit box, and the case is still ongoing against a number of employees in the ministry on charges of negligence in performing a public function, and abuse of power in a case that was transferred by the Public Integrity Commission and anti-corruption.

The court heard a new witness in the case of abuse of power, in which the accused is the Secretary-General of one of the ministries and the director of his office, in a public session in the presence of the defense attorneys of the defendants.

The court received a file of one of the corruption cases, consisting of about 30 files, which are expected to start consideration soon.
