Tomorrow, Monday, marks the 27th birthday of HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, the eldest child of their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and the forty-second descendant of our Master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
His Highness the Crown Prince was born in Amman on the nineteenth of Muharram 1415 AH corresponding to the twenty-eighth of June 1994 AD.
A Royal Decree was issued choosing HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II as Crown Prince on the ninth of Rajab 1430 AH corresponding to July 2, 2009 AD, and he was appointed Deputy to His Majesty several times.
His Highness graduated from the Royal Military Academy “Sandhurst” in Britain in 2017, from which his father, His Majesty King Abdullah II, and his late grandfather, His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, may God rest his soul, graduated.
His Highness graduated from Georgetown University in 2016 with a major in international history, while he completed his secondary education from Kings Academy School in Madaba in 2012.
His Highness holds the rank of first lieutenant in the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, and has participated, along with comrades in arms over the past years, in many military and specialized field training courses, parachute jumping, special operations, the navy, and vertical aviation.
To implement the visions and aspirations of His Highness, the Crown Prince Foundation was established in 2015, which works through the axes of readiness for work, leadership, leadership, and citizenship, and within the concepts of inclusiveness, innovation, and positivity.
The Foundation seeks to enhance the capabilities of young men and women and invest in the skills they need in the future, in addition to empowering them with opportunities and living skills in areas of highly competitive advantage, creating new models and platforms for employment and entrepreneurship, leading activities that enhance youth participation, and working to ensure business sustainability.
The Foundation’s initiatives target thousands of young men and women each year from all governorates of the Kingdom. The number of beneficiaries of the Foundation’s initiatives and programs reached one million and 700 thousand young men and women during the year 2020.
His Highness represented Jordan in many international forums, where he chaired a session of the United Nations Security Council, in April 2015, to discuss “the role of youth in peacebuilding, conflict resolution and combating terrorism.”
His Highness’s efforts at the United Nations culminated in holding the first Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security in Jordan in August 2015, when the “Amman Declaration” on youth, peace and security was issued by the forum.
His Highness the Crown Prince delivered Jordan’s speech at the meetings of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II, on September 21, 2017, in which he spoke about Jordan’s role in positively contributing to achieving the good of the whole world, and the importance of developing the education system and supporting entrepreneurs Young.
His Highness participated in the work of the third session of the World Summit on Industry and Industrialization 2020, which aims to reduce poverty, achieve comprehensive globalization and environmental sustainability by achieving industrial development.
Stemming from His Highness’ interest in improving the living conditions of military retirees, His Highness the Crown Prince supervised the “Comrades in Arms” program, which was prepared according to royal directives to support military retirees and veterans, through a committee formed for this purpose.
His Highness received the “Independence Medal of the First Class”, the “Renaissance Medal of King Hamad of the Excellent Class (Necklace)”, from the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, and the “Olav Medal of the First Class”, from the Kingdom of Norway.
His Highness is in contact with all relevant institutions to follow up on the implementation of His Majesty’s directives, as His Highness chaired the National Policy Council several times, accompanied His Majesty the King in many meetings and inspection tours, and participated in many military and humanitarian programs.
