The Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Hunaifat, said that the amount of exports of vegetables and fruits during the current month indicates a significant increase that supports the recovery phase.

During his meeting with the Syndicate of Traders and Exporters of Vegetables and Fruits today, the minister indicated that exports have increased to levels they have not reached in two years, at 2,800 tons per day during the past few days, pointing out that the quantity of exports of vegetables and fruits is witnessing a remarkable increase compared to the same period last year.

Al-Hanaifat listened to the most important observations and suggestions regarding exports by the head of the Vegetable and Fruit Traders and Exporters Syndicate, Saadi Abu Hammad, and in the presence of representatives from the vegetable sector, marketing, laboratories and the Royal Scientific Society regarding procedures related to examinations and transportation.

The minister directed to follow up on all challenges facing export and work to overcome them and cancel any restrictions in this regard, and also directed to follow up on meetings with all competent authorities and to set appropriate frameworks and positive paths to sustain export at the same pace.
