For a long time, scientists have been studying the causes of Alzheimer’s disease. The assumptions are quite different, but they are nowhere near understanding what dementia begins with. This did not make it possible to prescribe treatment correctly and in a timely manner, stopping the manifestations of the disease at an early stage.
An unexpected result has been reached by Australian scientists from the Institute of Medical Innovation at Curtin University, who have linked the onset of Alzheimer’s disease to prolonged stress.
In their conclusions, the researchers argue that it is stress that keeps the human neuroendocrine system in constant tension. The endocrine system regulates digestion, immunity, mood and energy.
Stress is responsible for the production of the hormone cortisol, which is the body’s response to stressful situations. However, with the constant increase in pressure in the system, failure occurs and cortisol begins to be produced in quantities much larger than necessary. Then the body starts blocking it in other ways, leading to the development of dementia.
Essentially, the brain simply begins erasing memories from memory that can cause painful sensations.
