The Russian doctor, Alexander Myasnikov, called on women who notice the growth of facial hair not to remove it, but to visit a doctor to find out the cause.

Dr. Myasnikov warned of the dangers of unwanted hair growth in women. “Sudden hair growth on the face or arms may indicate ovarian or adrenal cancer,” he said.

At the same time, Myasnikov explained that the factor that most often provokes hair growth is polycystic ovary disease. This disorder is linked to a tendency to develop heart disease, high blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and cancer.

Therefore, the expert notes that when unwanted hair appears in women, one must first find out the reason for this change – you need to contact an endocrinologist, gynecologist or general practitioner, Myasnikov gave advice. He noted that active hair growth on a woman’s face is associated with some endocrine disorders and hormonal imbalance leading to increased testosterone production.

“If there is an excess of testosterone, we need to know why there is so much of it, and why androgens have taken over estrogen,” the doctor continued.
