King affirms Jordan’s support for Iraq in enhancing its security and stability

Today, Sunday, King Abdullah II met at the Government Palace in Baghdad, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, ahead of the Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi tripartite summit.
The depth of the well-established Jordanian-Iraqi relations was emphasized, as the King reiterated the Kingdom’s support for Iraq and its brotherly people in enhancing its security and stability.
They discussed ways to develop cooperation between the two brotherly countries, especially in the energy, transport and trade sectors, in addition to a number of regional issues.
The meeting touched on regional and international efforts in the war on terrorism, according to a holistic approach.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Director of the King’s Office, the Director of General Intelligence, the Jordanian ambassador in Baghdad, and a number of senior Iraqi officials.
Upon his arrival at the government palace, the king was accorded an official reception, where the Jordanian royal and Iraqi national anthems were played, and the king and the Iraqi Prime Minister reviewed the guard of honor that had lined up to greet them.
A group of horsemen accompanied the vehicle that carried the king to the government palace, raising the Jordanian and Iraqi flags, to welcome the king and the accompanying delegation.
