Iraqi Foreign Minister: A joint industrial city with Jordan is in its final stages

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said on Sunday that the Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi summit discussed investing in opportunities between the three countries in the “economic, political, and joint action.”
Hussein added, during a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry after the summit, that the leaders of the three countries affirmed the continuity of joint work in various fields, as the previous stage was evaluated since the Jordan summit.
He pointed out that the joint delegations met during the current period, whether at the bilateral or tripartite level, and mechanisms of work and interaction were created in the economic field. Various joint projects related to the industrial city were also discussed.
He added that the process of establishing the industrial city has reached its final stages, and joint work in the field of “manufacturing medicines and agricultural pesticides in addition to work in the field of construction and housing” was also discussed.
Jordan agreed with Iraq to establish a joint industrial zone on an area of 24 km2 in December 2018.
And he indicated that the leaders of the three countries discussed political issues in joint action at the regional and international levels, especially the Palestinian issue.
