Psychologists and educators have unanimously agreed on the need for justice between children, and non-discrimination between them, due to the many dangers that arise from discrimination between children, such as parents’ disobedience and physical violence between brothers, in addition to the children’s feeling of inferiority.

They also stressed during their interview with the Jordan News Online newspaper that justice is not only achieved through gifts and money, but also with tenderness, kindness and good treatment, in addition to staying away from comparison, and taking into account individual differences between children.

Psychological and educational specialist Dr. Maram Bani Mustafa indicated that discrimination between children leads to a child feeling inferior and inferior, and the child becomes underachieved because of constantly comparing him with his brother, and in this case he feels constant frustration and leads to physical violence between brothers.

She explained during her speech to “Akhbar Al-Jordan” that all children should be treated fairly, and not to compare and prefer between them, explaining that the person’s love for his personality, his achievements and his works.

Bani Mustafa added that in order for parents to avoid discrimination between children, they must leave periods between births, because competition becomes less when the child is older, stressing the need to prepare children to receive the new born by telling them early on about the arrival of a new born, so that the child is psychologically prepared to avoid jealousy. .

She called on Bani Mustafa to provide the child with as much privacy as possible, and to encourage each family member to respect privacy in addition to not violating the rights of others.

In turn, psychologist Nour Dabbous said that discrimination has a negative impact on the psyche of children and leads to the occurrence of disorders that may result in disobedience to parents, in addition to it may extend to society, so that it becomes grudge and selfishness, and thus we have a child who is withdrawn and loves isolation or a bully child against others.

In her interview with Jordan News, she added that the basis of children’s mental health is equality between them, regardless of gender or age.

Dabbous indicated that the individual differences of each child must be taken into account, and the comparison between them should be avoided, and parents’ awareness of the religious aspect and the prohibition of discrimination between children must be increased.

She noted the importance of giving children the right to express their feelings and needs and to listen to them without discrimination.
