Since the beginning of June, the Border Guard forces of the Jordanian Armed Forces/Arab Army have thwarted three infiltration attempts, during which they seized narcotic substances that smugglers intended to bring into the Kingdom.
In the details of these attempts, on Thursday, the Eastern Military District thwarted an attempt to infiltrate a person with Syrian citizenship from Jordanian territory into Syria, and he was arrested after the rules of engagement were applied to him.
And last Wednesday, the Eastern Military District also managed to thwart another infiltration attempt, after a person with German citizenship was caught trying to infiltrate from Jordanian territory into Syria.
And at the beginning of this month, the border guards forces in the eastern military region were also able, in cooperation with the Military Security Directorate and the Anti-Narcotics Department, to thwart an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle narcotics from Syrian territory into the Kingdom.
According to a military source, the rules of engagement with smugglers were applied when they tried to cross the Jordanian border, which led to their fleeing towards the Syrian border, noting that 377,000 Captagon pills were seized.
