The joint “legal and administrative” committee in the House of Representatives will hold a discussion session tomorrow morning, Wednesday, on the draft municipalities and decentralization law for the year 2021.

The discussion session, chaired by the President of the Council, Lawyer Abdel Moneim Al-Awdat, comes to start the dialogue on the draft law on municipalities and decentralization for the year 2021.

The reasons for the draft law on municipalities and decentralization came to enhance popular participation in decision-making and apply the principle of decentralization at the governorate level by transferring some of the powers of the center and the tasks of departments to the governorates with their various councils, and to enhance the complementary role between governorate councils and municipal councils by defining the powers and tasks of each council in a way that enhances the aspect Development and advisory services for each within his competence, and to define the tasks and powers of the Governorate Council, the Executive Council, and the Municipal Council.
