During the first half of June, the inspection and control teams of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and other concerned parties closed two tourist facilities.
The ministry issued violations and warnings for 17 other establishments between a restaurant and a hotel, due to their non-compliance with the preventive measures for health and public safety set by the ministry.
The ministry said, in a press statement today, Wednesday, that the inspection committees carried out 850 inspection tours of tourist facilities, which included all governorates of the Kingdom.
She pointed out that the legal requirement was taken against violators who did not adhere to the procedures and conditions set by the ministry, and did not abide by the guideline that it circulated, and the preventive protocols issued by the Ministry of Labor, indicating that it alerted 92 other facilities, prevented and stopped two facilities from receiving inmates, and a person violated A visitor of tourist facilities.
The ministry indicated that 576 tourist facilities are committed to preventive measures for public health and safety, stressing the need for tourist facilities and those inside them to abide by the instructions issued by defense orders, which stipulate maintaining physical distance between individuals, wearing masks when entering, exiting and movement, and lifting them when sitting for food only.
The ministry indicated that it has intensified its inspection tours of tourist facilities, especially those that offer hookah, after they were allowed, in the plan for the gradual opening of the sectors and within the plan to reach a “safe summer,” by providing service in the outdoor yards.
According to the ministry’s statement, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Al-Fayez, directed the Awareness, Guidance and Joint Control Unit on tourist facilities, to redouble efforts and intensify field inspection tours to ensure the facilities’ commitment to safety and health prevention measures and protocols issued by the Ministry of Labor regarding work procedures for preventive measures in establishments authorized to provide hookah;
It is noteworthy that the inspection and inspection teams on tourist establishments were formed from 15 committees, each of which included representatives from the ministries of Tourism, Antiquities, Health, Labor, Industry and Trade, the Greater Amman Municipality, the Food and Drug General Organization, the Association of Tourist Restaurants and the Hotels Association, and the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection and Tourism.
