On Tuesday morning, the National Aid Fund began disbursing and transferring cash support to about 60,000 new additional families that were included in the temporary cash support program Takaful 3, after the government’s recent decision to expand the coverage of families with this program to reach the number of 160 thousand families most affected by the Corona pandemic. .
The Director General of the Fund, Omar Al-Mashaqbeh, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra), that “the exchange process came after the Fund finished studying, evaluating and visiting the additional families covered by this decision,” noting that “the Fund began this morning, sending text messages to all families whose support was transferred. her cash.”
He added, “The support and transfer will be disbursed to these families for a period of 9 months, which started from the first of last April, and will continue until the end of this year.”
He explained that “the payment that was disbursed today will be for the months of last April and May.”
He stressed that “the additional cost approved by the government to include these families amounted to 50 million dinars, which will be secured by issuing a budget supplement to cover the costs of the mitigating and stimulus measures announced by the government at the end of last March, related to strengthening the social protection system, bringing the total cost of the program to 150 million. dinars, with a total number of beneficiary families estimated at 160,000 families.
