Basem Awadallah – Jordan News Archive An informed official source denied the release of the former head of the royal court, Bassem Awadallah, and the main suspect in what is known as the sedition issue. The source confirmed, in exclusive statements to “Jordan News,” that Awadallah is still under arrest and will be brought to trial before the State Security Court within the next few days. Special security forces had arrested Awadallah and about 16 others at the beginning of last month, against the background of accusing them of trying to implement a scheme to destabilize the security of the Kingdom, before King Abdullah II directed the release of all detainees except for Awad Allah and Sharif Hassan bin Zaid.
